Annwyl / Dear Parent / Carer/ Guardian,
Inclement Weather Warning
for week commencing 26th. February 2018
We have received warnings that we MAY experience severe weather on Tuesday 27th. February and Thursday 1st. March. Parts of Wales could see a spell of significant snow on these days. Significant disruption to transport and schools is possible, although the timing and position of the heaviest snowfall is still subject to some uncertainty.
I am advising you, that in these circumstances, we MAY have to close the school.
We will be taking every precaution to ensure that we will remain open if it is at all possible. Our entrances will be gritted to aid safe access and staff who are able to walk to school safely will be attending.
In deciding what to do, assessment will be made of the following :-
Safety of the site
Availability of heating and lighting
Catering being available for pupils and staff
Returning pupils home safely if conditions worsen
Should it be necessary in the interests of pupil welfare to close the school, please ensure we have correct telephone numbers should we need to contact you and most importantly that someone will be available to collect your child should the need arise.
If a decision is made to close the school, please note that we will use the following - council website (www.swansea.gov.uk), twitter (@gendrosp), school website (www.gendrosprimary.com), Swansea Sound and The Wave to keep you informed of any school closure. Please DO NOT telephone school as this impedes communication.

Should a decision be made to close the school during the school day (whilst the children are in attendance) we will endeavour to send a parentmail text to a parent/carer or guardian requesting that you collect your children. Please DO NOT telephone school as this impedes communication.
Dymuniadau gorau / With kind regards,
Yr eiddoch yn gywir / Yours sincerely,
