At Gendros Primary we believe that history is always best approached through enquiry based first-hand experiences. The past influences all our lives, it shapes the customs and beliefs of communities to make sense of the world in which we live.
We try to provide the children with something concrete to work from, whichever period of history the children are studying.
They are given lots of opportunities for hands-on experiences using artefacts and photographs and visits to places of historical interest and significance. The work is always meaningful and relevant to the children and their stage of development, it focuses on the organisation of skills required to be an historian.
